Welcome to the North Iowa Alternative High School,

Zero Hour Wt. Lifting, and HS P.E.

In Iowa, alternative high schools must meet all of the requirements of 281--Iowa Administrative Code 12 General Accreditation Standards. An alternative school is an environment separate from the comprehensive school and each school has its own policies, rules, staff and resources to provide programming for student learning goals and content standards. Students attend alternative high schools by choice.

E2020 (click here to enter the website)

E2020 is a computer based educational curriculum that is used in the Alternative School. Courses in E2020 have lectures, assignments, quizzes and test for each subject

Wt. Lifting

The weight lifting program we use is called Bigger Faster Stronger  (BFS). Each student will have their own individual lifting program based on their strength level. The lifting program will include the core lifts of squats, bench and cleans along with several other auxiliary lifts each week. Students lift twice each week and a third day is used for agility, speed training and plyometrics. Strength, quickness, balance, flexibility, explosiveness, and fitness are the areas students are trying to make improvement.
