Professional History
I am originally from Osage, Iowa and graduated from the Osage Commuity Schools in 1976.  My father, Earl, still resides in the Osage community. 
 
I graduated from the University of Sioux Falls, Sioux Falls, South Dakota (formerly Sioux Falls College) with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology Education in 1980. 
 
My first teaching job was at the Crow Creek Reservation High School in Stephan, South Dakota for the 1980-1981 school years. 
 
For the school years 1981-1986 I taught all high school science science courses at the Keya Paha High School in Springview, Nebraska.  During that time I began work on my master's degree in Science Education at the University of Nebraska, Kearney, Nebraska (formerly Kearney State College).
 
In 1986 I returned to Iowa to teach at the Titonka Community School District.  It was at the end of that school year that I obtained my Master's degree from Kearney State College.  During my years at Titonka I taught high school general science, biology, chemistry, and advanced biology.  When Titonka transitioned to a district with a middle school attendance center I taught all grades of middle school science.  I still reside in the community of Titonka.
 
I began teaching at the North Iowa Community Schools in 2006 at the middle school. I currently teach both middle school and high school science courses at NICS.
 
Also since 2006 I began teaching as an adjunct professor at the Algona site of Iowa Lakes Community College in the evenings.
