Welcome to First Grade! 

I am Miss Calvert and I am excited to begin my teaching career at North Iowa. I am originally from Barnes City, Iowa and graduated from North Mahaska High School, a school similar in size to North Iowa, in 2007. After graduation, I continued my education at the University of Northern Iowa and received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in Math and Literacy. I spent the last six months of my college experience student teaching in Houston, Texas where there were over 60,000 students in the school district I taught in.  When looking for jobs, I knew I wanted to come back to a community based school similar to the one where I grew up and North Iowa was the perfect fit. I look forward to meeting and getting to know everyone. Go Bison!
